This award recognises a care worker or support worker in residential, home or community care whose kindness and skill transform the lives of the people they support. Judges look for the quality of care, dignity and the difference made.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a concise case study, supporting figures and, where possible, feedback from patients, service users, families or colleagues. Never include information that could identify a patient or service user: describe cases in anonymised terms and give figures as percentages or ranges. Nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Judges consider the size of the service, team or organisation, so smaller providers compete on equal terms.
