This award recognises an NHS, independent or voluntary healthcare provider that has delivered outstanding care, improved safety and looked after its staff. Judges look for quality, outcomes, patient experience and culture.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a concise case study, supporting figures and, where possible, feedback from patients, service users, families or colleagues. Never include information that could identify a patient or service user: describe cases in anonymised terms and give figures as percentages or ranges. Nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Judges consider the size of the service, team or organisation, so smaller providers compete on equal terms.
